Christ and Culture (all ages)

Description: Christ and Culture studies current issues as they relate to the Christian faith. This is a very interactive and lively class of diverse ages, backgrounds and opinions. They are currently studying Rob Bell Nooma videos. Recent studies include Seeing Gray in a Black and White World, the United Methodist Social Principles, A Journey into Christian Art, God’s Politics and Benevolent Orthodoxy.

College and Career (post-high school)

Location: upper level, room 22 of Harris Activity Center

Description: This class is offered for young adults who are post high school age, whether pursuing a career or enrolled in college. Come join in on a variety of discussion topics from week to week.

Faithlinks (mid 30′s-40′s)

Location: upper level, room 21 of Harris Activity Center

Description: Faithlinks covers a wide array of subject matters. This class welcomes all ages, singles or couples. They also focus on serving Anapra and Ogden Friendship House and they sponsor a Christmas adoption. They are currently studying When Christians Get it Wrong.  Recent studies include Making Love Last a Lifetime by Adam Hamilton.

Joymakers (35 and up)

Location: Classroom 1 (class starts at 10am) in main building

Description: Joymakers participate in a variety of activities such as weekly book studies or discussions of current events in the news. They have studied There’s a Hole in Your Soul that Only God Can Fill by James W. Moore and Jesus in Blue Jeans by Laurie Beth Jones.

New Journey (all ages)

Location: Classroom 4 in main building

Description: New Journey is a group who enjoys a friendly discussion and a challenge of tough subject matter. They have studied The Heart of Christianity, If Grace is True: Why God Will Save Every Person and The Lord Is My Shepherd.

Open Door (retirement age)

Location: main floor, Parlor of Harris Activity Center

Description: Open Door partakes in scripture reading and discussion, picnics and potlucks. They are using Uniform Series Adult Bible Studies. They also do service projects.

Pacemakers (retirement age)

Location: Conference Room (behind Library) in main building

Description: Pacemakers encourage a friendly environment, meeting September through May. They are currently studying Yancy’s What’s So Amazing about Grace? The class shares in Bible study and current events.

Pairs and Spares (ages 30-60+)

Location: Classroom 3 in main building

Description: This class discusses current issues, follows contemporary studies and does weekly devotions. They have studied You Can Get Bitter or You Can Get Better and other books by James W. Moore and J. Ellsworth Kalas.

Pathfinders (mid 20′s- 40+)

Location: large room in Alan Lee Center

Description: Pathfinders seek God’s will for their lives through a variety of studies. These include verse-by-verse studies of a Biblical book, topical studies, and Christian books. The class participates in many world missions. They are currently using a video series Faith Lessons by Ray Vander Laan.

Saints and Sinners (ages 40′s-50′s)

Location: small room in Alan Lee Center

Description: Saints and Sinners explore different curricula to help in their spiritual travel through everyday life. They recently studied Top Ten Lists. They offer Christian support to each other through listening and prayer.

Sojourners (all ages)

Location: lower level, room 1 in Harris Activity Center

Description: Sojourners is a long-standing class who enjoy studying the Bible, singing and having fellowship with each other. Recent studies have included Biblical studies, different religions, immigration, The Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren and Reading the Bible Again for the First Time by Marcus J. Borg.
